At UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, mammograms can be scheduled on our Hahnemann and Memorial Campuses, as well as at three off-site locations in Barre, Shrewsbury and Uxbridge. Digital mammography appoinments are available at the Mammography Center on the Hahnemann Campus and Barre Family Health Center.

There are two types of mammograms: screening and diagnostic. Screening mammograms are a routine procedure used to identify early signs of breast disease. Diagnostic mammograms are for women with a history of breast, ovarian or uterine cancer, or who require follow-up care from a previous screening.

Breast MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) is available on the Medical Center's Memorial Campus to enhance our breast imaging services. This technology, which uses a magnetic field and radio waves, provides a three-dimensional computerized image of breast tissue.
