Cardiac Catheterization Services
|
Interventional cardiology involves nonsurgical treatments for disorders of the heart. Today, nonsurgical procedures are safer and more effective than ever before, and offer patients more options for the treatment of cardiovascular disease. Because these procedures often involve a small incision and passing a catheter to the heart via a blood vessel, they are sometimes confused with cardiac surgery.
At the center of interventional cardiology services at UMass Memorial Medical Center is our Cardiac Catheterization Lab - the largest and most comprehensive in Central and Western Massachusetts.
UMass Memorial performs more than 7,000 cath procedures each year in our state-of-the-art lab, which features the most advanced imaging equipment in the world. The result is excellent outcomes for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization at UMass Memorial Medical Center.
