High-quality care and sensitivity to our patients' needs are the hallmarks of surgical oncology care provided at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Our surgical oncologists have special expertise in breast care, gastrointestinal cancer, soft tissue tumors, endocrine tumors and skin cancer.
Multidisciplinary clinics meet weekly in collaboration with medical oncology, radiation oncology and behavioral medicine.
Our surgical oncologists are active participants and leaders in several national cancer cooperative clinical trial groups, including the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Program and the American College of Surgeons' Oncology Group.
UMass Memorial and UMass Medical School collaborate on pancreatic cancer research optimizing outcomes and improving survival and quality of life in patients with or at risk. Directed by Jennifer Tseng, MD, the Surgical Outcomes Analysis and Research (SOAR) Group, focuses on surgical diseases and perioperative outcomes.
