Bleeding and Clotting Disorders

Bleeding and clotting disorders (thrombosis) care is provided at the New England Hemophilia Center at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Established in 1975 as one of the first federally funded comprehensive care centers, it is now part of a national network of 141 dedicated treatment centers providing health care for individuals with bleeding and thrombotic disorders.
Causes of bleeding disorders include genetic conditions, cancers, bone marrow deficiencies, liver disease, severe toxicity during pregnancy and antibodies that destroy blood clotting factors.
The center provides multidisciplinary services to individuals and families with hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders. We offer a family centered approach to care and treatment and provide age-specific services.
