New England Hemophilia Center

The New England Hemophilia Center is located at the UMass Memorial Medical Center on the Memorial Campus. The center provides multidisciplinary services to individuals and families with hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders. Hemophilia treatment centers are recognized for state-of-the-art medical and psychosocial services, education and research and a setting where patients are part of the team that makes decisions about their care.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that hospitalizations and morbidity are reduced by 60 percent for persons with hemophilia who receive their care through a nationally recognized hemophilia treatment center.
The New England Hemophilia Center also offers the opportunity to participate in research protocols including:
- Phase I, II and III studies of new factor concentrates
- Clinical outcome studies
- National CDC-sponsored surveillance studies
