Wellness Program for Breast Cancer Survivors

The UMass Memorial Comprehensive Breast Center offers an eight-week Wellness Program that is targeted specifically toward the needs of breast cancer survivors. This program is focused on teaching breast cancer survivors how to utilize the mind-body connection to maximize physical and emotional well-being. Participants in the program meet for 90 minutes each week for eight consecutive weeks. Topics covered in the group meetings include stress management, nutrition, sexuality, body image, communication, relationships, managing fears and coping with loss. During group meetings participants not only receive educational information, but also have the opportunity to share their feelings and concerns with other breast cancer survivors.
