Home UMass Memorial Medical Center News/Events News Heart Center Partnership Brings UMass Memorial Doctors to Clinton |
Clinton Times & Courier CLINTON - Earlier this month, Clinton Hospital welcomed physicians from the nationally recognized UMass-Memorial Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence as they joined the hospital's cardiovascular medicine program. This team of experts, led by Dr. Rishi Vohora, collectively brings more than 100 years of experience in cardiovascular medicine to the hospital, along with a direct link to the advanced services and technology of the Heart and Vascular Hospital at UMass-Memorial Medical Center. "This partnership is a great advantage to the patients at Clinton Hospital," said Sheila Daly, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital. "Because all of these physicians practice at the Medical Center as well as Clinton Hospital, our patients receive the best of both worlds - top-notch care only minutes away. And, the hospital is purchasing new diagnostic testing equipment, so patients can have exams done locally with faster results." Vohora, who is offering outpatient consultations and testing in the Ambulatory Care Center at Clinton Hospital, 201 Highland St., Clinton, is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine. He is board-certified in internal medicine, and completed both a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at UMass-Memorial. In addition to Vohora's office hours, a team of fellowship-trained UMass-Memorial cardiologists will be on rotation at Clinton Hospital five days a week and on-call on weekends to care for inpatients. Dr. John Keaney, chief of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at UMass-Memorial, and staff cardiologist at Clinton Hospital, agreed that these additions will benefit patients locally. Vohora cares for patients in the Ambulatory Care Center at Clinton Hospital every Friday. For more information or to make an appointment with Vohora, call 978-368-3760. A physician referral is required. This article was originally published by the Clinton Times & Courier.
