CLINTON – Philip Gottlieb, MD, medical director, Geriatric Medical Psychiatry Unit, was elected president of Clinton Hospital’s medical staff at the group’s annual meeting held in October. An active member of Clinton Hospital’s medical staff since joining the hospital in 2007, Dr. Gottlieb served as vice president of the hospital’s medical staff for two years before accepting this recent nomination.
“As medical staff president, I chair the Medical Staff Executive Committee, which represents all members of the medical staff and is accountable to the Board of Trustees for the quality of medical care provided to patients at Clinton Hospital,” said Dr. Gottlieb. “Regulations are becoming more and more complicated as we move toward health care reform, so it is very important that our physicians continue to follow best practices according to state and federal standards of care to make certain we are maintaining the high level of care our patients have come to expect from Clinton Hospital.”
Dr. Gottlieb, is a member of UMass Memorial Medical Group and earned his medical degree from New York Medical College before completing a residency and fellowship at Tufts Medical Center, Boston Veteran’s Administration Hospital. Dr. Gottlieb is board certified in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry.
