Jodie Grady, Marketing Manager
CLINTON - Theresa McLaughlin, president, Clinton Hospital
Guild, recently presented Sheila Daly, RN, MS, president and CEO, Clinton
Hospital, with a $10,000 check at the guild's Valentine's Tea, which was held at
the hospital earlier this month. This donation marks the third and final
installment of the guild's three-year, $30,000 commitment to the Clinton
Hospital Partnership program.
"We are so pleased that the guild was able to support Clinton Hospital's
partnership program," said Mrs. McLaughlin. "It is so important that the
community recognizes all of the wonderful work performed at the hospital by
giving back, and thanks to the hard work of our volunteers at the Clinton
Hospital Guild Thrift Shop and hospital gift shop, we were very fortunate to
raise $30,000 toward this wonderful initiative."
The Clinton Hospital Guild will celebrate its 75th Anniversary this year.
Since its inception in 1936 the Guild has played an important role in bringing a
number of programs, equipment upgrades and aesthetic improvements to the
hospital. "We estimate the Guild has donated approximately $750,000 to the
hospital over its 75 years of service - and that was all raised one dollar at a
time through fundraisers from cookbooks and yard sales, to our gift and thrift
shop sales," said Mrs. McLaughlin.
"I am so grateful to the ladies of the Clinton Hospital Guild for
volunteering their time and energy to benefit Clinton Hospital," said Ms. Daly.
"For the past 75 years these women and their predecessors have done a wonderful
job of ensuring the best health care is available here. We are indebted to them
for their devotion to our community hospital."
The Clinton Hospital Guild is actively looking for new members. All ages are
welcome. Additional volunteers are also needed to staff the hospital gift shop
and Clinton Hospital Guild Thrift Shop. For more information, contact Mrs.
McLaughlin at 978-365-4384.
Due to the inclement weather this winter, the thrift shop's clothing
inventory was depleted. Please consider donating clothing, coats and any
unwanted house wares or knick knacks to the thrift shop located at 37 High
