Gordon Edmonds, president and CEO of Leominster Credit Union (LCU) gladly presented Sheila Daly, RN, MS, CPHQ, president and CEO of Clinton Hospital with a $10,000 pledge check toward the hospital’s capital fundraising initiative, The Campaign for Emergency Care. The fundraising project will help defray some of the costs associated with the hospital’s $15 million, 28,000-square-foot expansion, which includes a 14,000-square-foot Emergency Department.
“Leominster Credit Union is proud to partner with Clinton Hospital and support their renovation and expansion initiatives,” said Mr. Edmonds. “The hospital is a vital asset to the community and the enhanced services these projects will provide will be a great benefit for local residents.”
Construction of the new Emergency Department building is moving along quickly with the initial steelwork and framing slated for completion in mid-September. Thankful for the many recent donations from local businesses and foundations, Sheila Daly believes the Emergency Department project would not come to fruition without the community’s generous support, including that of LCU.
“We are so grateful that LCU is getting involved in this project, especially considering their very recent support of our Partnership Program with a $40,000 donation toward our new Patient and Family Lounge in 2011,” said Ms. Daly. “The fact that local businesses like LCU are repeatedly showing their support for our hospital by making long-term commitments to various projects gives us confidence that we are indeed heading in the right direction in our goal to keep excellent health care local and accessible.”
