LEOMINSTER - HealthAlliance Hospital has earned national
recognition after being named to this year's list of the Top Most Wired
Hospitals in the country. The survey is conducted annually by Hospitals
& Health Networks, the journal of the American Hospital Association.
The award recipients are selected based on progress in adoption, implementation
and use of information technology in four areas: clinical quality and safety,
infrastructure, business and administrative management and care continuum.
Despite an increasingly competitive field of applicants, this is the fourth
year in a row that HealthAlliance Hospital received this distinction. In 2010
and 2009, the Hospital received the Most Wireless Award and in 2008 received the
award in the Most Wireless - Most Improved category. For this year's award,
HealthAlliance Hospital was selected from 1,388 hospitals nationwide."This is
the most prestigious category to be recognized, and we are one of only four
hospitals in Massachusetts to receive the Most Wired Award," remarked Patrick
Muldoon, president and CEO of HealthAlliance Hospital."This national distinction
acknowledges the clear commitment that we have made to create a hospital that is
responsive to our community's needs and expectations with respect to high
quality care, patient safety, and customer service."
"HealthAlliance Hospital has worked for several years with a vision of
supporting patient care and improving efficiency through integrated technology,"
commented Margaret Campbell, RN, associate chief information officer at
HealthAlliance Hospital."It is thrilling to know that our efforts are recognized
at a national level, and that we are making advancements for our patients and
community that few other hospitals have yet to make."
