The Speech, Language and Hearing Center on the Burbank Campus of HealthAlliance Hospital is dedicated to the prevention, identification, evaluation and rehabilitation of communication disorders arising from impairments of speech, language and hearing. A continuum of services is provided to patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings, including Burbank Rehabilitation Center and Diversified Home Services.
Contracted services are also available to area agencies. In addition, the center’s staff provides consultation and inservice training to referral sources and the general public. One of the primary goals of the center is to enhance public awareness of communication disorders and the resources available to those with impaired speech, language and hearing.
Providing comprehensive patient care, staff works with physicians, physical/occupational therapists, mental health services, public, private and vocational schools, social services agencies, hearing aid dealers and vocational rehabilitation services.
