The Nursing Mom, the breastfeeding center at HealthAlliance Hospital, offers
breastfeeding supplies, counseling, classes and support groups - everything
needed for breastfeeding families to enjoy the special experience between mother
and baby. A lactation consultant is available for private consultation during
the hospital stay or after discharge. This support contributes to the high rate
(65 percent) of new mothers at HealthAlliance Hospital who opt to breastfeed.
The center is open to patients and the public, and offers a supportive
atmosphere to ask questions about breastfeeding.
