  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • History of genetic concerns
  • History of pregnancy-related complications
  • Multiple gestation
  • Previous preterm labor

Patients who require specialized care are referred by their obstetricians or family medicine providers to a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at HealthAlliance Hospital for medical, obstetrical or ultrasound consultation. Our specialists work closely with each patients' physicians to develop a plan of care tailored to their personal needs and medical history.

Maternal-fetal medicine specialists, the only physicians in the region with fellowship training in this specialty, provide:

  • Antepartum testing for fetal well-being
  • Consultation during pregnancy
  • Diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis
  • Genetic counseling
  • High-resolution ultrasound, including genetic ultrasound
