Physical therapists are licensed health care providers who evaluate, diagnose
and manage movement dysfunction and enhance physical and functional abilities.
They assess joint motion, muscle strength, endurance and activities required in
daily living. At HealthAlliance Hospital, our highly trained team assesses and
treats patients of all ages in both hospital and outpatient settings.
Our goal is to have patients take an active role in their care, to have the
knowledge and skills to carry on with therapy, and to prevent further
dysfunction. Physical therapists develop treatment plans based on the
individual, not on the diagnosis. Patients are matched up with therapists who
can best meet their unique needs.
Commonly treated conditions include back and neck injuries, fractures,
strains, sprains, arthritis, open wounds, sports injuries and neurological
disorders, such as stroke, head injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's
disease, cerebral palsy and vertigo. Recovery from joint replacements and
work-related accidents are also treated.
