Hospice is a comprehensive health care program dedicated to the needs of the terminally ill and their families. The goal of hospice is to keep patients as alert, comfortable and active for as long as possible. Life can be more valuable and meaningful when comfort is achieved.
Hospice helps the patient and family cope with illness through a coordinated approach to care, and through physical, emotional and spiritual support. Terminally ill patients deserve to live their final months pain free and with dignity. Their families need support and reassurance in their role as primary caregivers.
