Marlborough, MA (April 29, 2013) – Marlborough Hospital is pleased to announce that Francesco Aiello, MD, a board-certified surgeon, is now on staff at Marlborough Hospital and is taking new patients. As part of the accredited vascular lab in the medical office suites at Marlborough Hospital, Dr. Aiello joins Drs. Akhter, Carlucci, Nelson and McManus, and will be available for onsite testing—with immediate results--for carotid artery ultrasound studies, abdominal aortic aneurysm screenings, vascular disease detection and post-surgical follow-up scans.
Dr. Aiello’s clinical interests include vascular surgery, carotid artery surgery and stenting, dialysis access, endovascular and open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular and surgical treatment of upper and lower extremity ischemia, endovascular treatment of varicose veins and deep venous disease, as well as renal and mesenteric occlusive disease. He is a member of the UMass Memorial Heart and Vascular Center of Excellence and an assistant professor of surgery at UMass Medical School.
Dr. Aiello is a graduate of Boston University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He was fellowship trained in vascular surgery at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell and Columbia University Medical Center.
