To help patients recover from the disabling effects of stroke, orthopedic problems (including fractures, joint replacement surgery and tendonitis), or other injuries, Marlborough Hospital Physical Rehabilitation Services provides comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy to patients of all ages. After a thorough evaluation of each patient's medical condition and capabilities, a treatment plan is tailored to the patient's individual needs and goals to help him/her regain strength, mobility and independence. Physical rehabilitation services are offered to inpatients at Marlborough Hospital and on an outpatient basis at a modern, state-of-the-art center.
A Golf Fitness Program is also offered to provide golfers with an individualized exercise and stretching program to reduce the likelihood of injury.

Physical Therapy
Licensed physical therapists and physical therapy assistants use a combination of massage, electrotherapy and graduated exercises to restore normal health and functions or to prevent a disability from getting worse.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists use selected activities to help patients reach their maximum level of function and independence in all aspects of daily life. Therapists also provide assessments of assistive devices and adaptations in the home.
Speech Therapy
Speech therapists supervise the rehabilitation of patients who are unable to speak coherently due to congenital causes, accidents or illnesses, such as stroke.
