Dr. Michael Aronson Receives Distinguished Surgeon Award from Society of Gynecologic Surgeons

Worcester, MA - Michael Aronson, MD, attending physician in the obstetrics and gynecology department at UMass Memorial Medical Center and professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, recently received the 2010 Distinguished Surgeon Award from the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons (SGS).
The award, the highest given within SGS, was awarded to Dr. Aronson for his surgical contributions to patient care and education, as well as his contributions to gynecologic surgery, which include directing an SGS post-graduate course in gynecologic surgery and serving on SGS's executive committee.
Dr. Aronson specializes in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. His clinical interests include pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse and urinary incontinence.
The Society of Gynecologic Surgeons is a member group of over 250 physicians representing both private practice and academic faculty--all involved in teaching and the practice of advanced gynecologic surgery. SGS promotes the acquisition of knowledge and the improvement of skills in gynecologic surgery and enhances the understanding of gynecology and gynecologic surgery through basic and clinical research.
