The UMass Memorial Diabetes Center of Excellence provides care for infants, children and adolescents with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Our pediatric diabetes services are delivered through our Children's Medical Center, and provide the only American Diabetes Association-approved program for children in Central Massachusetts.
Our full-service team, which includes pediatric endocrinologists, certified diabetes nurse educators, dieticians, social workers, child life specialists and psychologists, offers telephone consultations regarding insulin management, works closely with school nurses to coordinate care, and provides round-the-clock coverage for medical emergencies for patients under our care. Our physicians are among the region's only subspecialists trained and certified in pediatric diabetes care.
