Pediatric Neurology

Pediatric neurologists at UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center in Worcester provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children with acute and chronic neurological problems. Neurological conditions for which patients are commonly referred include seizures/epilepsy, headaches, developmental delay and Tourette's syndrome.

Patients with central nervous system neoplasms (benign or malignant tumors), neuromuscular disorders, neurocutaneous syndromes and metabolic disorders are also seen for evaluation and treatment.

Pediatric neurology services include:

  • Multidisciplinary programs for muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and myelodysplasia
  • State-of-the-art neuroimaging and neurophysiology services including computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), ambulatory electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring, inpatient EEG video telemetry and evoked potentials
  • Inpatient consultation services in the UMass Memorial Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Sleep studies to assist in the relief of symptoms associated with sleep disorders
