Working closely with the family and referring physician, experienced UMass Memorial Children's Medical Center pediatric dietitians, who are registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, provide a broad range of nutritional services to address such conditions as:
- Failure to thrive
- Feeding problems
- Enteral and parenteral feedings
- Gastrointestinal disorders
- Food allergies and intolerance
- High-risk infants
- Eating disorders
- Picky eaters
For children with special dietary needs, our team is experienced in providing "tube" feeds and, when necessary, intravenous feeds (total parenteral nutrition).
To help parents with children who have a wide range of issues that lead to difficulty eating, from food aversions to medical problems, we also offer a Pediatric Feeding Clinic to work with families in developing strategies to improve feeding skills and the nutritional status of the child.
