The Cochlear Implant Program at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester offers a multidisciplinary, individualized care for adults and children seeking to realize the full range of benefits afforded by increased access to sound. Our program is one of the most comprehensive cochlear implant centers in New England and the only one in Central Massachusetts. We serve patients from as far away as Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut and New York.
Our program also provides several related services to assist families throughout the cochlear implant process. These services include insurance/reimbursement assistance, family networking and community education. In addition, our program offers a choice of three different cochlear implant devices.
UMass Memorial is a site for Food and Drug Administration clinical trials of new implants and as a result is constantly evaluating and implementing the most advanced hearing technologies and equipment. Further, we are dedicated to conducting original research that will advance our cochlear implant knowledge base and result in improved services for all cochlear implant recipients.
