Pulmonary Hypertension Program

Staff of the Pulmonary Hypertension Program at UMass Memorial Medical Center provide residents of Central New England with skilled diagnosis and individual treatment plans to patients with pulmonary hypertension a serious disease, which can become progressively worse, even fatal, if not properly treated. It’s important for affected patients to get appropriate care to treat their symptoms and prolong their lives.

Our expert staff has extensive experience in clinical research and treatment of pulmonary hypertension. Your care is coordinated by a team of physicians and nurses. When associated conditions require treatment, we work with other specialties within UMass Memorial to ensure high-quality care.

Treatment for pulmonary hypertension may involve medications delivered through intravenous (IV) infusion, inhaled medications and medications administered orally. Ongoing assessment of your response to treatment and the possible need for treatment adjustment are an integral part of your care plan. The program staff also partners with primary or local physicians for continuing care.
