
At the center of interventional cardiology services at UMass Memorial Medical Center is our Cardiac Catheterization Lab - the largest and most comprehensive in Central and Western New England.
Interventional cardiology services include diagnostic cardiac catheterization, or cath, and nonsurgical treatment for blocked coronary arteries, atrial fibrillation and other types of heart disease. These nonsurgical cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology (EP) procedures are safer and more effective than ever before, and offer you more options for managing your heart disease.
UMass Memorial performs more than 7,000 cardiac catheterization procedures each year in our state-of-the-art lab, which features the most advanced cardiac imaging equipment in the world. The result is excellent outcomes for patients undergoing procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
