Volunteer Services

Volunteers at UMass Memorial Medical Center are dedicated individuals who share their time, talent and enthusiasm to support staff in its efforts to provide health care services to the people of Central New England.

By joining our team of more than 500 at UMass Memorial, volunteers can learn new skills and expand their circle of friends - while doing fulfilling work. Our volunteers enjoy a flexible schedule tailored to meet their needs and goals and these added benefits:

Who Are Our Volunteers?

  • Teens who are at least 15 years old
  • Adults
  • Vocational education students

The Teen Volunteer Program at UMass Memorial provides high school students ages 15 to 18 with a learning experience that allows them to explore health care careers and provide a valuable service to the hospital.

Adult volunteers make a one-year commitment to volunteer one day a week for four hours in an assigned department. This experience allows adult volunteers the opportunity to work in a health care environment and provide a valuable service to the hospital.
