(July 20, 2012) –Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical Centers recently held a raffle during the Monson Summerfest event on July 4 with proceeds to benefit the tree replanting efforts for the Town of Monson.
The devastation following the June 1, 2011 tornado has had long lasting impact on residents of Monson. The “Replanting Monson” Tree Committee is committed to helping to bring back some of the beautiful landscape that was lost following the tornado.
Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical Center staff hosted a raffle at Monson Summerfest for a chance to win four tickets to a Red Sox game. The tickets were generously donated by Capitol Cleaners of Palmer and Charles E. Cavagnaro III, MD, FACP, President and CEO of Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical Centers. The raffle raised $600 to support the tree replanting efforts.
The donation was presented to: Audra Staples of the “Replanting Monson” Tree Committee on Friday, July 20 at Capitol Cleaners with Tom Skowyra of Capitol Cleaners and Teresa Grove, Director of Development for Wing in attendance.
The lucky winner of the Red Sox tickets is Denise Buck of Monson who will attend the September 26 game at Fenway Park against the Tampa Bay Rays.
“We are very pleased to be able to provide this donation to support the tree replanting efforts,” said Teresa Grove. “Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical Centers is committed to our communities and we are grateful for the generous support that has made this special donation to this initiative possible.”
