Wing Hospice Announces Bereavement Support Group beginning in September

REGION (August 1, 2012) – Wing Hospice is offering a Bereavement Support Group, which will begin Tuesday, September 11. The group will meet weekly, on Tuesday evenings, for eight weeks through October 30 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Wing VNA and Hospice located at the Palmer Technology Center (building 3, 4th floor) on 4 Springfield Street, in Three Rivers.

Domenic K. Ciannella, Wing Hospice Bereavement Coordinator, will facilitate the sessions. “We honor and cherish our loved ones by the stories we remember and tell. It is through the sharing of story that we maintain the bond of connection and begin to discover a new found joy in living life beyond loss,” says Ciannella. Each session will include an education component interwoven with discussion.

In addition to the September Bereavement Support Group, Ciannella will lead another group session from November 6 – December 18.

There is no cost to attend the sessions, but space is limited and registration is required. To pre-register for the support group, or for more information, please contact Domenic Ciannella at (413) 283-9715.

Wing Hospice provides care and support for terminally ill patients and their families in the greater Palmer area. Hospice is dedicated to providing services to enhance the quality of the patients’ lives with a focus on patient comfort and well-being rather than on curing the disease. Hospice services are provided in the patient’s home with the active participation of the family and/or caregiver.  Hospice services may also be provided in local contracted nursing facilities.
