(June 12, 2012) – The Wing Memorial Hospital Auxiliary (WMHA) recently presented $3,000 in scholarships to area high school students.
Each year, the scholarships are financed by the hard work and dedicated fundraising efforts of the members of the Wing Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. These activities include vendor fairs, bake sales, lotto calendar sales and gift shop proceeds.
WMHA provides scholarships each year to graduating high school seniors in Belchertown, Ludlow, Monson, Palmer, and Wilbraham who are pursuing higher education in a health care field. A committee reviews the applications of area students in April of each year to make selections of students who will each receive a $500 scholarship.
This year’s scholarship award recipients are:
Danielle Haley, a recent graduate of Palmer High School, is planning to attend Boston University and studying biomedical engineering.
Kathleen Laliberte, a recent graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School, is planning to attend Union College in Schenectady, New York for her undergraduate degree and plans to attend medical school.
