PALMER – Breast cancer affect one in eight women at some point in their lifetime, according to the American Cancer Society.
Awareness and use of the preventive services available is an important step in the fight against the onset of this disease.
At Wing Memorial Hospital, our Imaging Department offers you the latest in digital breast imaging technology with an emphasis on patient comfort.
Digital Mammography: Our digital mammography unit offers the latest technology in breast imaging. Our radiologists rely on the superior detail and clarity of the digital images it provides.
MammoPad®: When you have a mammogram at Wing Memorial, you’ll receive a MammoPad, which is a breast cushion that dramatically eases discomfort during the exam. The MammoPad is a soft foam pad inserted between the breast and the mammography equipment that makes it easier for our technologists to obtain the best possible image because you feel more comfortable and relaxed.
Breast Ultrasound: Ultrasound breast imaging is used in conjunction with mammography when there is a question of a breast cyst or mass that may not be clearly visible on the mammogram.
Breast MRI: Wing Memorial is the only hospital in the Quaboag Hills providing breast MRI. This technique is used in conjunction with mammography and offers valuable information for the detection of breast disease and monitoring of our patients at high risk for the disease.
Our Imaging Department staff has one goal – to increase your peace of mind. We offer prompt appointments and extended hours. To book your next mammogram or for more information, call 413-284-5241.
