Our Emergency Department has sophisticated technology and a highly
trained staff that provides effective care to patients in a cardiac
emergency. All of the Wing Medical Centers, the Emergency Department and
the Special Care Unit are linked to our new cardiology EKG link system.
This allows medical personnel throughout the system to retrieve, view
and analyze all EKGs performed at Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical
Centers.
Our close affiliation with UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester
provides patients with rapid access to advanced cardiac care services,
including cardiac surgery and a Cardiac Catheterization Lab, featuring
the most advanced imaging technology in the nation. Patients receive
these services thanks to Life Flight,
the air ambulance that rapidly transfers patients from Wing Memorial
Hospital to UMass Memorial Medical Center's highly specialized cardiac
care services.
