Rehabilitation Services at Wing Memorial Hospital provide comprehensive
physical and occupational therapy to outpatients of all ages. The
department's goal is to help patients recover from the disabling effects
of stroke, orthopedic problems (including fractures, joint replacement
and tendonitis) or injury, and return to daily activities to the fullest
extent possible. After a thorough evaluation of each patient's medical
condition and capabilities, a treatment plan is tailored to the
patient's individual needs to help them achieve his/her personal
functional goals.
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists evaluate, restore and prevent movement
dysfunction using a combination of therapeutic interventions including
graduated exercises and modalities with the goal of restoring physical
and functional abilities.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists utilize selected activities that help patients
reach their maximum level of function and independence in all aspects of
daily life. These activities are designed to make the best use of the
patient's capabilities and are based on individual requirements. Wing
